Bad News Pears is the 8th episode of The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange series.

Summary[]

After losing to a game of fruit bowling against GrapefruitOrange must get training from Grandpa Lemon to beat Grapefruit in the final rounds.

Plot[]

It is nighttime at Daneboe's. Fruit Fruitale announces the food bowling round, which has two teams face each other: the always victorious King-Pins (Grapefruit and Watermelons 1, 2 and 3), and the bad luck, never winning team, The Bad News Pears (OrangePearLittle Apple and Marshmallow). After Grapefruit knocks down all bottles, it upsets the Bad News Pears. But Orange wants to beat Grapefruit. However, before he could even roll, he saw a seed laid by Grapefruit. Then the King-Pins and Fruit Fruitale tell him that he has to "roll as it lies." Being forced to do it, Orange rolls, but slips on Grapefruit's seed, causing him to crash into Pop Bottle, and destroy stuff. After a unfortunate and humiliating defeation, everyone (but Orange) leaves for the night. As he gets upset, he spits his own seed at Grapefruit's seed. Not destined to give up, Orange decides to practice. But no matter how hard he hits, the bottles just laugh llike getting a massage. However, he hears a voice saying that he's rolling with his eyes closed and must keep his eyes open when he rolls. Deciding to take advice, Orange rolls with his eyes open, actually managing to knock down a bottle, but the advice came from Grandpa Lemon, who told him what to do. He told Orange that he once was a food bowling champion, but he isn't now because he stop to take a snooze.

The next day, Orange prepares to train food bowling, but Grandpa Lemon wants him to scrape his calluses, much to Orange's confusion.

The day after, Orange must continue to scrape Grandpa Lemon's calluses because he didn't get them all yesterday. As Grandpa Lemon chuckles as he has to get to his nether regions, Orange angrily says that he could've just taken him to a dermatologist.

After days of scraping calluses, Orange doesn't want to scrap more calluses. But Grandpa Lemon says he gets to eat ice cream, but it was all a trick to make Orange scrape more calluses.

After several weeks of scraping all of Grandpa Lemon's calluses, Orange replies that he should've been trained for bowling, which has Grandpa Lemon realize that he's mistaken the word bowling for calluses. And so they start training.

After dozens of victories, training and calluses scraping, The Bad News Pears prepare to face off against the King-Pins. They use new strategies (Little Apple knocks the bottles down in the middle, Pear loops around and Marshmallow pleads nicely for them to fall down).

As they approach the final round, Orange worries that he'll fail again to defeat Grapefruit because of his seed. As they tell him to roll as it lies again, Orange decides to put all faith in him to win. As he goes for the bottles, Orange jumps over Grapefruit's seed and scrapes it. With his faith, The Bad News Pears win victoriously. As an upset Grapefruit slips on his seed, he bumps into a shelf of knives and gets chopped into fourths. As Orange thanks Grandpa Lemon for his help, he soon laughs and groans because he has to scrape more calluses.
