Luigi is Mario's younger brother and a plumber like him but different by wearing a green cap and a green shirt. He was first mentioned by Mario in Super Mario, when Orange was annoying him. Orange mistook him for "Linguini", thinking Linguini was Luigi's name (much like he thought Mario's name was Spagetti-O's), which lead Orange to start making pasta-related puns. Luigi made his first appearance in Mario Kart, where he had slipped on some juice that Orange had spat on the road, causing him to crash his cart.
